SHOES WITH PERSONALITY
Pikolinos has its own personality: handcrafted with hand sewn natural leather that is both soft and durable to create a comfort shoe, with exclusive designs and unique colours which are constant features in all our brand’s collections. Our product’s concept is based on the combination of the brand’s essence and the application of the highest technologies to guarantee all our clients a top quality and unique footwear.
Another identifying feature is our “sewn to sole” production method, used in the production of our some models. This allows the shoe to be flexible and adapt to each individual’s foot achieving a maximum comfort.
THE BEST MATERIALS ON YOUR FEET
Our commitment to quality begins before the shoe’s design and manufacture: the first step is the leather selection. The Pikolinos leather is from the best quality cattle hide. Our leathers undergo an exclusive leather treatment process using the products and natural waxes of Pies Cuadrados, a company within Grupo Pikolinos that specializes in leather tanning.
Our leather is treated with casein, a protein found in milk which adhere to pores of the leather and provides its radiant shine and natural look. Pikolinos leathers do not contain any resins or plastic films for protection. As a result, the pores remain intact which allows your feet to breathe with ease.
ECOLOGICAL LINE
In 2005 Pikolinos launched the AMAZONAS line, and in 2008 ORINOCO line, and became the first Spanish footwear brand to obtain the European Eco-label certification. This label is only assigned to products manufactured with ecological materials: chrome free leathers, biodegradable outsoles and non metal pollutants. These two Eco-label certified sections guarantee a quality shoe that has been manufactured in a healthy and ecologically responsible manner.
In the tanning process these sections have an 85% oxygen demand in sewages reduction, low water and air pollution in manufacture, free of toxic substances and the vegetable tanned leather makes chromium hypoallergenic footwear. Shoes from these lines have total quality assurance, ecologically manufactured in accordance with the European Eco-label standards which test the durability of the leather and sole and the adhesion of the leather to the sole.
The footwear complies the European Eco-label ecological standard requirements. In order to fulfil the strict ecological standards controls from the shoe components (laces, threads, velcros, etc) to leather; textile and soles are for chromium VI, formaldehyde, sulfonated azo dyes, etc.
The results obtained from these controls meets to the Pikolinos’ standards which are even more demanding than those the required by European Union. As a result, we can guarantee the highest minimums are applied to these components. To end in manner that is consistent with the products’ philosophy, the shoe boxes are made with recycled cardboard.
