ABOUT PIKOLINOS

Pikolinos is currently considered an exemplary company in the footwear sector. It is part of Grupo Pikolinos, a footwear and accessories holding company, which includes Martinelli, Pikostore, Pies Cuadrados and Vabene.

In 2007 Grupo Pikolinos created the non-profit Juan Peran Foundation. Through this organization Grupo Pikolinos aims to provide more opportunities and to encourage help and cooperation through social, cultural and sport development projects.

Pikolinos was founded in 1984 by its current president Juan Peran Ramos. The main idea behind the company’s creation was to create unique shoes by developing products with innovative designs and of an outstanding quality. Right from the beginning these core concepts, together with the integration of cutting-edge technology, have continued to inspire the company and to guarantee the creation of shoes of the very highest quality for our clients.

In 1989 Pikolinos began to broaden its vision and carried out an export trial in France to very positive results. What began as a test soon became our core sales focus. Pikolinos currently exports 80% of its products. Our largest target countries include the United States, France, Germany, Italy and Russia. However, Pikolinos is present in about 60 countries worldwide and has over 20 official stores and over 8000 points of sale around the world.

We work continuously to ensure that we are the leading brand for comfortable shoes, and to establish our unique identity in the global marketplace.

COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

Pikolinos is committed to environmental conservation. Therefore, through all our management and production processes, we seek to have a minimal impact on nature.

Pikolinos has a zero paper policy. This is made possible through computer programs specially designed for the managing, saving and processing of all kinds of documents (accounting, administrative, HR, sales) without printing them. The small amount of paper we use is ecological (100% chlorine free) and the waste generated within the company is recycled.

The majority of our products are vegetable tanned. We use water-based dyes and solvent-free glues, all of which considerably reduce any environmental impact.

COMMITMENT TO QUALITY (ISO 9001 – ISO 14001)

Pikolinos was one of the first companies to attain the ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) certifications in the footwear sector. We earned these on account of our excellent process and service management systems, which are implemented throughout all the stages of design and production, right through to sales and post-sales.

After the consolidation of our Quality Systems ISO 9001, Pikolinos has taken further steps in improving its business management with a new system based on the EFQM Excellence Model.  The fundamental concept of this model is self-assessment.

SOCIAL COMMITMENT

The human resources of Pikolinos are our company’s greatest strength. For this reason, we are eager to invest in the professional and personal development of our employees. We seek to align our HR policies with our organizational strategy, implementing this strategy through our people.

The HR department works to improve the social, personal and professional development of all Pikolinos employees, and views each one as an individual who is part of a larger team. We offer life insurance, company healthcare, subsidies for further studies as well as support and flexibility to achieve a healthy home/work balance.

FUNDACION JUAN PERAN PIKOLINOS

Pikolinos also feels it has a responsibility on a local and an international level.  Through the Juan Peran Foundation we offer our help to different countries around the world. We are currently working on several social, cultural and sport development projects.  These include our development project in Bangladesh carried out by UNICEF; our involvement in the Mapayn Mundy Organization in Ancash, Peru; the Aderbissinat Community project in Tadibene, Nigeria; supporting AMAMEC (Association for Woman with Breast Cancer Association) in Elche, Spain; and helping to fund investigation projects in Elche Hospital in Spain.
