   ABOUT PIKOLINOS

PIKOLINOS is currently considered one of the model companies in the footwear sector. It is a part of Grupo Pikolinos, a footwear and accessories holding company: Martinelli, Pikostore, Pies Cuadrados and Vabene. In 2007, the Juan Peran Foundation was born.  Through this non-profit organization Grupo Pikolinos aims to provide more opportunities, help and cooperation through social, cultural, sport and development projects.

Pikolinos was established in 1984 by its current president, Juan Peran Ramos. The main idea behind its creation was product development based on the design, quality and originality of a unique shoe. From the beginning, the philosophy that has inspired the company is a combination of the above maxims and the application of the highest technologies to guarantee our clients a top quality shoe.

In 1989 Pikolinos ventured to new frontier and carried out export trials with great results, using France as the pilot. What started as just a test became the sales core. Pikolinos currently devotes 80% of its production to export. The destination countries mainly include United States, France, Germany, Italy and Russia, among others. Pikolinos is in about 60 countries, has over 20 official stores and over 8000 points of sale around the World.

We work day by day to be a leading brand in comfort, establishing our unique identity in the global market.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

Pikolinos is committed to environment conservation; therefore, through all its management and production processes, the company seeks to have minimal impact on nature.

Pikolinos has a “zero paper” policy, which is possible through computer programs specially designed for the retention, custody and treatment of accounting, administrative, labour and commercial documents without printing them. The limited paper used is Ecological (100% chlorine free) and the waste generated within the company is recycled.

The majority of products manufactured is vegetable tanned, uses water-based dyes and solvent free glues which considerably reduce any environmental impact.

QUALITY COMMITMENT ISO 9001 – ISO 14001

Pikolinos has been one of the pioneering companies in attaining ISO 9001 certifications (Quality Management Systems) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) in the footwear sector. These certifications are due to excellent management processes and services which are implemented in our products from the design, sales and delivery to the after sales service.

After the consolidation of our Quality Systems ISO 9001, Pikolinos has taken further steps in improving Business Management with a new system based on EFQM Excellence model.  The fundamental concept of this model is SELF-ASSESSMENT. EFQM is a non prescriptive framework based on enablers and results criteria; the enabler criteria cover what the company does and the results criteria are what the company achieves. The basic principle behind the systems is that the results are caused by enablers and the feedback from results allows the enablers to improve.

SOCIAL COMMITMENT

The human capital is Pikolinos’ most important strength; due this, the company invests in the employees’ professional and personal enrichment. Our commitment with Human Resources is to line up the policies with the organization strategy. This will enforce the strategy through the people.

The Human Resource Department works to improve the social, personal and professional development of the Pikolinos employees, considering each one as individuals integrated within a team. Examples of this are life insurance, internal health assistance, further studies subsidy, conciliation of family and labour life, etc.

FUNDACION JUAN PERAN PIKOLINOS

Pikolinos also feels social responsibility on local and international levels. We channel our help to different countries of the world through the Juan Peran Foundation; which currently collaborates with several social, cultural, sport and development projects.  Examples of such endeavours are: our development project in Bangladesh carried by UNICEF; our involvement in Mapayn Mundy Organization in Ancash, Peru; the Aderbissinat Community project in Tadibene, Nigeria; AMAMEC (Woman Breast Cancer Affected Association) in Elche, Spain; and, investigation projects in Elche Hospital in Spain.
