Sneakers against breast cancer

Breast cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the world. One in eight women will develop this disease during their lifetime.

In Spain, every 15 minutes a woman is diagnosed with this disease. It is the leading cause of death among Spanish women between the ages of 35 and 55, killing more than 6,000 women each year.

Research has become the only way to make progress in overcoming this disease. With the aim of helping to ensure that research continues, Pikolinos has been collaborating for years with the Spanish Breast Cancer Research Group Foundation “GEICAM.” One hundred percent of the profits from the purchase of the models featured in this collaboration have been allocated to research projects such as GEICAM's FOX C1 project. The detection of the FOXC 1 protein has been shown to identify breast cancer tumors. It should be noted that breast cancer is not a single disease, but many diseases. Tumors have different molecular characteristics and their treatments must therefore be individualized. Prevention and research save lives.
